Our backstage tour is a fun activity for any group – but was designed specifically for kids age 6-80! If you’ve ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes, this free tour provides a great introduction to what goes into a performing arts event. Learn what a gobo is, fun tricks you could play with gel, how to follow stage directions and much, much more! The tour also gives you all that you need to complete the Webelo drama badge.

THEATRICAL LOGIC
In is down, down is front;
Out is up, up is back;
Off is out, on is in;
And of course –
Right is left and left is right.
A drop shouldn’t
And a block and fall does neither.
A prop doesn’t
And a cove has no water.
Tripping is OKAY;
A running crew rarely gets anywhere;
A purchase line will buy you nothing;
A trap will not catch anything
And a gridiron has nothing to do with football.
Strike is work (in fact, a lot of work)
And a green room usually isn’t.
Now that you’re fully versed in Theatrical Terms –
"Break a Leg…" But not really!

The Center provides educational backstage tours on a limited, first come, first served basis. Tour dates are available Monday through Friday, when the facility is not is use. Recommended for groups of 15 or less.
