A funny play that asks big questions, it tells the rousing, true story of a hardscrabble group of 1930s miners who take up painting and become sensations of the British art world. Their exhilarating journey from pit to pinnacle overflows with spirit and laughter, as rich and intriguing as the art it unveils. West Coast Premiere by Lee Hall.

Zack's second-grade teacher, Miss Smith, has a knack for telling tales: when she reads from her incredible book, the stories literally spring to life! Then one day Miss Smith is late for school. The principal takes over and things get out of hand. The classroom is swarming with storybook characters from princesses to pirates to the three little pigs! How will Zack and his classmates get them all back into their stories? All it takes is one spectacular teacher. Read the book by Michael Garland, then come see this World Premiere play!

Assyrian Aid Society of America presents presents

MESOPOTAMIAN NIGHT 2012

Mesopotamian Night 2012 concert celebrates Assyrian music, songs and folklore dances. The performances include the musical Malek Rama and the songs of Vania David and Misha Ashoorian. The proceeds from this event goes to educational and humanitarian projects of the Assyrian Aid Society of America, a 501(c) California organization.

Smuin Ballet presents

Smuin Ballet kicks off its season with a World Premiere by Choreographer in Residence Amy Seiwert. Seiwert's Dear Miss Cline is a buoyant and colorful romp set to ten Patsy Cline tunes, including "Walkin' After Midnight," "Come On In," "Triangle," "There He Goes," and "Pick Me Up On Your Way Down." Also included is Michael Smuin's tribute to September 11th, Stabat Mater, and The Eternal Idol, a pas de deux Smuin created for American Ballet Theatre in 1969. Rounding out the program is Michael Smuin's Tango Palace.
