Clean Up Programs, Bulky Goods & Vouchers

On Call Plus Clean Up Days
The On Call Plus Clean Up Program is a curbside collection service available to residents living in homes, condominiums, townhouses and mobile homes. (Apartment managers can call to arrange a complex-wide special collection or haul items directly to the SMaRT Station®.)  If you are uncertain if you qualify, please call Recology at 650-967-3034.

Residents can schedule three free appointments year-round by calling Recology at 650-967-3034.
Appointments expire in mid-December (to allow for holiday tree collection) and are not transferrable to other properties. Appointments may also be exchanged for a SMaRT Station Voucher (below) where residents self-haul items to this transfer facility for recycling or disposal.

Each appointment can be used to set out extra trash, recyclables and yard waste in an 8'L x 4'W x 4'H area PLUS up to 3 bulky goods such as a washer, dryer, water heater, microwave, sofa, furniture, and mattress at no charge.  Keep items separated for collection by different trucks.  Items must be bagged, boxed or bundled so the driver can easily place them in the truck. There is a 50 pound weight limit per container.

Most types of bulky goods are accepted in the On Call Plus Clean Up appointment program at no charge.  However, there is a small fee for items containing hazardous materials or needing special handling such as refrigerators, computer monitors, televisions, and up to 4 passenger vehicle tires.   To avoid the fee for these items, exchange the On Call Plus curbside appointment for a Voucher to self-haul them to the SMaRT Station (see Vouchers below).

For more detailed information about what is accepted and how to set out, see the chart below or call Recology at 650-967-3034.   For more information on E-Waste and Household Hazardous Wastes, visit the related links shown to the left.

SMaRT Station Vouchers
Residents may exchange any of the above clean up appointments for a Voucher to haul items directly to the SMaRT Station at no charge (open 7 days a week) . Proof of residency is required. To obtain vouchers, please telephone Recology at 650-967-3034 about a week before your clean up and they will mail one to you. The vouchers are good for the same items as an On Call Plus curbside appointment above, including some types of bulky goods that Recology charges a fee for special handling.

For more detailed information about what is accepted and pictures about On Call Plus, see the chart below, click on a sample voucher, or call Recology at 650-967-3034.  Vouchers expire December 31st and are not transferrable to other properties.  Note:  A voucher is not needed to recycle computer monitors, televisions, microwaves, stereos, cell phones and other e-wastes at the SMaRT Station (free of charge).  For more information on E-Waste and Household Hazardous Wastes, visit the related links shown to the left.

Extra & Special Collection Services

Residents may also haul items directly to the SMaRT Station, which is open 7 days a week (fees may apply).
