The Library Board of Trustees is a five-member volunteer board that advises the City Council and staff on Library matters.
The Board is selected by the Mountain View City Council from the general citizenry. Members are appointed for a maximum of two four-year terms.
Responsibilities include:
- Adopt rules and regulations necessary for the administration and protection of the Library.
- Assist in the planning of Library services for the community.
- Accept money, personal property or real estate donated to the Library. |
Meetings and Agenda
The Library Board meets on the third Monday of each month at 7:30pm in the Library Community Room, 585 Franklin Street.
The agenda lists the items coming before the Board for consideration. Citizens may examine the agenda and staff reports at the Mountain View Public Library, 585 Franklin Street, beginning the Friday before each meeting, and at the City Clerk's Office beginning Monday morning. |
Public Participation
The Board welcomes constructive audience participation at meetings. Anyone wishing to address the Board on a non-agenda item may do so during the "Oral Communications From the Public" part of the agenda. Comments on agenda items will be invited by the Chairperson during discussion of that item.
Speakers are asked to identify themselves to ensure that names and addresses are accurate in the minutes. If a large group wished to express its views, it is more effective to have one spokesperson. |
