Plans, Regulations and Guidelines

The City has a number of plans, regulations and guidelines that cover land use and future development.

  • General Plan. The General Plan is the City's framework for future community development, preservation and environmental conservation and includes a Land Use Map (PDF - 2.5 MB)*.
  • Zoning Ordinance. The Zoning Ordinance contains specific regulations that apply to properties citywide or based on their zoning district. The Zoning Map (PDF - 6.4 MB)* shows where the boundaries of zoning districts lie.
  • Precise Plans. The City has thirty-two Precise Plans that have specific regulations and guidelines that apply to defined geographic areas.
  • Guidelines. The City has a wide range of design and process guidelines to assist property owners and developers.
